IIT Mandi Placements: Records Increase in Pre-Placements Offers 2022-23

IIT Mandi Placements: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has registered 69 pre-placement offers (PPOs) this year (till November 16), higher than last year’s tally of 56.

The top companies making pre-placement offers to IIT Mandi students this year are Microsoft (11 offers), Samsung Research Institute, Bangalore (10 offers), Amazon (7 offers), Arista Networks (6 offers), Accenture (4 offers) and Uber (3 offers).

Explaining the factors behind the increase in PPOs this year, Dr Tushar Jain, Advisor, Career and Placement Cell, IIT Mandi, said: “The provision of strong internships has led to a significant increase in the PPOs for students. Since the drive is still ongoing, these numbers are expected to rise in the coming months. At this point, there is a 23% increase in the PPOs received so far compared to the previous year.”

IIT Mandi Placements: Other multinational companies

Multinational corporations including Sprinklr, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Indeed, Uber, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Siemens, Samsung Research Institute Bangalore, Schrodinger, Walmart, Zomato, Texas Instruments, ODE, Arista Networks, Yum, Radisys, Accenture, Aakash+Byju, Nucleus Software, Western Digital, and Nohara Holdings, Inc, among others participated and made PPOs to IIT Mandi students.

Software analyst and data science sectors have accounted for most of the PPOs till date in this academic year. The institute believes that the introduction of six months of internships for students led to a significant increase in the number of semester-long internships.

The first phase of placements is scheduled to commence on December 1, 2022, and the PPOs can be offered till then by companies.
