The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) officially inaugurated the Madan Mohanka Centre of Excellence in Case Method of Learning (MMCoECML) on its campus on August 30. This centre has been created in collaboration with Madan Mohanka, who is a 1967 graduate of the PGP program at IIMA and serves as the Chairman of Tega Industries Ltd.
Vineet Joshi, the Secretary, Department of Higher Education, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, (He is also given additional charge as the chairman of the University Grants Commission) was the chief guest; while Professor Shrikant Datar, the Dean, Faculty of Harvard Business School, (a private Ivy League research university), presented the keynote address through video-conferencing.
The opening ceremony, which was held at JSW auditorium of the institute, was attended by IIM Ahmedabad faculty members, students, alumni, and staff, as stated in the institute’s press release.
This new Madan Mohanka Centre of Excellence has been set up to promote research, teaching, and training in case method learning. The centre’s efforts will include training faculty members to excel as case method trainers and providing support in case development through funding, research support, review, and editing.
Additionally, it will conduct research on case pedagogy and disseminate the case method by organising conferences, workshops, and short-term faculty development programmes, the release said.
