It has been set up through a grant from the Ajit Isaac Foundation (AIF), a philanthropic organisation created by Ajit Isaac, founder and chairman of Quess Corp Ltd, and his wife Sarah Isaac, who is also the founder and trustee of Ashoka University.

Ashoka University announced the establishment of the Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP), under which new public policy programmes will be launched. The centre will also undertake advanced interdisciplinary research.

It has been set up through a grant from the Ajit Isaac Foundation (AIF), a philanthropic organisation created by Ajit Isaac, founder and chairman of Quess Corp Ltd, and his wife Sarah Isaac, who is also the founder and trustee of Ashoka University. This new centre will offer flagship graduate-level programmes in economics and public policy.

It will also launch graduate and executive-level programmes, where the latter will include professionals from both the public and private sectors. Some of the focus areas will be agriculture and rural economy, employment and labour, Indian regulatory and public finance. The centre will work and collaborate with leading public, private and non-profit sector stakeholders to identify research gaps associated with policy formulation and implementation.

It will engage with policy on a continuous basis, leveraging the experience of leading experts from within and outside the university, the institute said. Sarah Isaac said, “The vision behind the establishment of Ashoka University is to use philanthropic capital to create an academic institution that can help create large-scale social impact and contribute to nation building.

This centre has been set up to further this vision and we are delighted to partner with them to generate ideas and research on public policy to enable inclusive and sustainable growth.”
