UGC has Published a List of Universities Offering Online Courses; Last Date of Application is 31 March.

ased on online applications, the University Grants Commission has now released a list of HEIs recognized to offer Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs for the academic year 2023-24.

Universities Offering Online Courses: The University Grants Commission (UGC) had earlier invited online applications from eligible Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) as per Regulation 3(A) and Regulation 3(B)(b) (Open and Distance Learning Programs and Online Programmes) Rules of the UGC , 2020 and amendments thereto for recognition of programs under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

Based on online applications, the University Grants Commission has now released a list of HEIs recognized to offer Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs for the academic year 2023-24.

Students can check the detailed list of which university offers which online learning courses on the official UGC-DEB web portal – deb.ugc.ac.in/Search/Course. University Grants Commission has approved around 80 universities which can offer various online distance education programmes.

The last date for enrollment in ODL and online Courses for the February 2024 academic session is March 31, 2024.

Institutions have been given time till April 15 to upload student admission details on the UGC-DEB web portal.

 “Higher educational institutions will also follow the Territorial Jurisdiction and Learner Support Center (LSC) policy specified in Annexure III and VIII of the University Grants Commission (Open and Distance Learning Programs and Online Programs) Regulations, 2O2O and its amendments,” the University Grants Commission said in an official release.

Meanwhile, the UGC has also issued precautions that students should keep in mind while applying to any institute for online distance learning programmes.

 Before admission, students are advised to verify the accreditation status of the Higher Education Institution (HEI) providing Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online education. This can be done by visiting the UGC DEB website and reviewing the information provided by the HEIs, paying particular attention to any prohibited programs or restrictions on franchising arrangements.

Provide and ensure that all activities are being conducted within the territorial jurisdiction for ODL programmes,” the UGC official notice read.
