Pursuing an MBBS degree in Russia is becoming increasingly popular among Indian students, as it offers high-quality education at an affordable cost. Russia ranks as the 8th most sought-after study destination worldwide, attracting around 2Lakh international students every year who wish to obtain an MBBS degree from its universities. Around 20 leading Russian medical universities are listed in the top rankings of medical institutions worldwide.

MBBS education in Russia offers a comprehensive six-year course, which includes five years of academic study with one year of compulsory clinical internship. Many Russian universities are globally recognized and accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Medical Council (NMC), and the courses are taught in English and Russian language. A major advantage for Indian students is the relatively affordable tuition fees, which often range from Rs 2.5 lakh (Hostel & Mess charges not include) to Rs 10 lakh per year.

For all Indian applicants wishing to pursue MBBS abroad, NEET is mandatory to study MBBS in Russia and work or practice in India after passing the FMGE test. Students must appear and clear NEET before taking admission in medical universities in Russia. Without NEET you will not be able to appear for the licensing exam in India and you will not be eligible to practice as a doctor in India.
