NEET-UG Counselling 2024: The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has recently unveiled the counselling timetable for NEET UG 2024, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate students. Candidates can check the complete schedule of counselling from its official website-mcc.nic.in.
The counselling process for Round 1 will start from August 14. Candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2024 are eligible for the counselling process. The verification of the provisional seat matrix will be done from August 14 to August 15. Candidates will have time from August 14 to August 20 (12 noon) to complete their registration and make payment by 3 pm on August 20.
The choice filling and locking process will be made available for the candidates from 16th August to 20th August (11:55 PM), choice locking option will be provided only on 20th August from 4 PM to 11:55 PM. Seat allotment will take place in August 21st and 22nd and the results will be declared on 23rd August.
Candidates who have received seat allotment will have to report and join their allotted institutes from August 24 to August 29. The data of the appeared candidates will be verified by the institutes and the data will be released on the MCC website on 30th and 31st August.
Round 2 counselling will start from September 4. NEET UG online counselling will consist of three rounds and one additional online stray vacancy round. The counselling is being conducted for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ), 85% state quota, deemed and central universities, private colleges, AFMS/ESIC institutes, AIIMS and JIPMER.
Amidst the requests for cancellation, on July 23, the Supreme Court decided that NEET 2024 will not be conducted again, and ordered the NTA to release the revised result after restoring the original answers to Q19 of Physics.
The updated cut-off score for General category has been reduced from 720-164 to 720-162. For candidates from SC, ST and OBC categories, the cut-off is set at 161-127, while for SC, ST and OBC-PH candidates, it is 143-127.
The NEET cut-off percentile for general category candidates has been set at the 50th percentile, while for OBC, SC and ST candidates, it has been set at the 40th percentile. NTA determines this percentage on the basis of highest marks in All India Common Merit List.
