MBBS In Maharashtra: In Maharashtra, the long-awaited online registration process for medical undergrad (UG) programmes has begun, and a provisional merit list will be released on October 25. Additionally, much to the relief of the students, there is no security deposit requirement like the one that was added to this year’s PG (Post Graduate) admissions. Additionally, each round’s candidates will be given new college options.

The information brochure for the admission process for health science programmes, including MBBS, BDS, BHMS, and BAMS among others, was released late Monday by the Maharashtra.

Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell.

Candidates and parents have been worried that a similar clause may be added for the UG admission process after the CET Cell adopted the security deposit requirement for PG admissions last month.For Undergraduate Admissions, however, there will still be an usual registration cost of Rs 1,000 for applicants to government colleges and Rs 5,000 for applicants to private colleges. Candidates must pay a total registration cost of Rs. 6,000 if they choose to apply for both positions.

Sudha Shenoy, a parents’ representative, said, “This is a relief because the candidates are likely to make last minute changes in UG admissions. For example, a candidate gets a dental seat in round two, but is interested in medical seat might want to shift to the same in round three after looking at/considering the cut-off.”

The security deposit requirement for graduate admissions states that applicants must pay Rs 25,000 for government institutions and Rs 1 lakh for both government and private medical schools. Although it is refundable, if a candidate does not confirm the admission on an assigned seat in round two, he or she forfeits the total sum of money.

Although there is no such requirement for UG admissions, a candidate will have to accept or decline a seat if offered one in the second round. There won’t be a choice to keep it and choose a better one in the subsequent round. Candidates who anticipate getting a better seat in the third round could have to risk vacating their assigned seat. Candidates who anticipate getting a better seat in the third round might have to take the chance of reserving their seat.

Candidates for undergrad admissions must select new colleges for each round; the selections made in the preceding round will not be carried over. There will be a total of 4,750 seats with an additional 100 seats added after the National Medical Council approved Osmanabad Government Medical College last month. 15% of these seats will be for the All-India quota.
