JNU PhD Admission 2024: JNU increased PhD Fees? Now Demand to Change the Prospectus

The admission process for PhD has started in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the student union has demanded to revise the PhD prospectus.

JNU PhD Admission 2024: The last date for submission of PhD admission application for the 2024-25 academic year in JNU is December 2. But before that the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students Union (JNUSU) is demanding to change the prospectus. The student union says that the fee for PhD has been increased in JNU.

The admission process for PhD has started in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the student union has demanded to revise the PhD prospectus. The union says that the fee for PhD has been increased in the name of Chief Proctor Office (CPO) Manual. Also, in the prospectus, the seats of three schools/centers – Center for Informer Sector and Labor Studies, Center for Korean Studies and School of Arts and Aesthetics have been shown as zero.

A delegation of JNUSU has also met the admission branch regarding this matter and has demanded amendment in the prospectus. However, the administration says that there has been no increase in the fees, only Rs 45 extra has been fixed for CPO manual. The cost of doing PhD in JNU is less than Rs 500. At the same time, the fee for PhD in Engineering (about Rs 21 thousand / semester) and Management (Rs 50 thousand / semester) in JNU is more than this.

JNU PhD Admission Date: What will Happen When?

Students will be able to apply online till December 2 for PhD Admission 2024-25 in the university. The registration process for admission has started.

+ There will be a chance to correct the JNU PhD form on December 3 and 4.

+ The preliminary merit list of the candidates selected for the PhD program is going to be published on December 30.

+ The second merit list will be released on January 8 and the third/final list on January 24.

+ The interview process will run from December 16 to December 21.

+ The last date for JNU PhD admission has been fixed as February 5.

Admission in JNU will be based on NET, NET-JRF, GATE qualification and interview. This time the admission process is running late by about four months due to delay in NET UGC results.
