JoSAA Counselling 2026: First Mock Seat Allotment Released on josaa.nic.in

JoSAA Counselling 2026 First Mock Allotment Released: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) released the results of the first mock seat allotment on June 8 at 2 PM. Candidates who registered and locked their choices by 8 PM on June 7 can view their tentative allotment on the official JoSAA portal.

This precedes the final allotment results for Round 1, which are scheduled to be released on June 13. JoSAA Counselling manages the joint seat allocation process for admissions to 138 institutions for the 2026-27 academic year. These institutions include 23 IITs, IISc Bengaluru, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 56 other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

Seat allotment for IITs is based on JEE Advanced 2026 ranks, whereas JEE Main 2026 ranks are used for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Candidates can modify their choices before the final deadline; if they fail to lock their choices, the system will automatically finalise their last saved preference order.
